WideWriter 360 Print Quality ProblemsThe WideWriter 360 has a unique head cleaning system which clears paper particles and dust that may have accumulated around the print head nozzles. GCC recommends that the WideWriter 360 print at least 1 page daily. If the printer is not used daily, then perform one of the following cleaning operations on a regular basis. There are four stages of cleaning: light, medium, heavy, and ink flushing. Light CleaningThe light cleaning occurs constantly while printing. This process wipes the print head and dabs it on a blotter.Medium CleaningMedium cleaning occurs if you press the Clean button and release it.To perform a medium cleaning:
Heavy CleaningHeavy cleaning occurs if you press and hold the Clean button for more than 3 seconds. To perform a heavy cleaning:
Ink FlushingIf the print quality is not improved by the medium or heavy cleaning operation, perform the ink flushing operation. Ink flushing should only be done if the print quality is not improved by a cleaning operation, or if the printer has not been used in more than six months. Please note that for the best possible print quality, GCC recommends that the WideWriter 360 prints at least 1 page daily. To flush the ink nozzles:
Note: Use the ink flushing operation very sparingly as it uses a lot of ink (approximately 20 pages worth.) If you notice that white streaks occur on your printed output, this could be an indication that one or more of the print nozzles on the print head may be clogged. To eliminate the white streaks and to clear the nozzles on the print head, try the following. Perform a medium cleaning. If the medium cleaning does not help, perform a heavy cleaning. If the heavy cleaning does not work, perform the ink flushing. Rev: 11/12/96 |
